Privacy
What LinkSnip stores about you when you use it or open something shared on it, and for how long. Nothing is sold or shared, and there are no advertising or tracking services.
When you open a link, paste, file or bundle
The visit is recorded for the statistics of the person who shared it: the time, a keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself), the page you came from, your browser, operating system and type of device, and your country, looked up on this server. Visits are kept until the item is deleted.
If you have an account
Your username, your e-mail address if you gave one, your password (as a hash, never in readable form), your sign-up date and when you were last active, and what you create. You can delete your account in Settings; that deletes what you created too (items in a team stay with the team).
Cookies
One session cookie, set when you log in or unlock a password-protected item. It expires 7 days after your last visit. There are no other cookies.
Security log
Logins, failed logins and admin actions are logged with the IP address and browser, to investigate misuse. They are deleted after 90 days.
Reports
If you report something, the reason, your description and a keyed hash of your IP address are stored, until an administrator deletes the report or the item is deleted.
Backups
The database is copied every night; each copy is kept for 30 days.
Other servers
Everything comes from this site, except the icons on bio pages: they load from unpkg.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net (and api.github.com on the bio page settings), which see your IP address.
